The qualification as Clinical Reflexology Practitioner is a registered qualification and the highest qualification to be achieved in the UK. It is allied to subjects of nursing and integrated medicine and consists of working at a higher academic level including subject related research, the study of pathologies and a deeper understanding of theory and practical training through extensive case studies.

As a trained Clinical Reflexologist, I offer a holistic, non-invasive approach to clients who are seeking relief from problematic, acute or chronic symptoms.

About Reflexology
Reflexology focuses mainly on the feet but some situations require reflexology treatments on the hands (other disciplines include ears and face but require specialised training).

The feet  are one of the most sensitive parts of the body, containing approximately 200,000 nerve endings per square centimetre. A reflexology treatment involves working on a range of carefully orchestrated pressure points. Using minute and precise movements, mostly with the thumb, stimulating the nerve endings to send signals to pain points or where there is an imbalance in the body's system. Stress is one of the most common factors responsible of an underlying illness.

Treatments include:
  • Women's Health: reproductive system, pregnancy & maternity, painful and difficult periods, perimenopause and menopause and Hormone Balancing.
  • Adolescent GHD (Growth Hormone Deficiency)
  • Digestive issues
  • Stress, sustained anxiety and depression (Limbic Reflexology)
  • Chronic conditions, e.g.Fibromyalgia (Limbic Reflexology)
Current Training and Professional Development:
Limbic Reflexology:
I am currently undergoing training to qualify as a Limbic Reflexologist. The training allows me to gain deeper insights and understanding into the complex processes of the Limbic brain and the ability in using specific techniques and sequences to achieve better results.
Limbic Reflexology is based on sound medical science. It finds its rationale, and is informed by up-to-date research in neuroscience with the efficacy of reflexology treatments being evidenced by the use of widely accepted outcome measures. Both, academic neuroscience research and outcome measures underpin the training.

Limbic Reflexology is able to access central processing areas which are responsible for the facilitation of pain and inhibitory controls and the transmission of pain signals and the neuroendocrine system is crucial in regulating essential functions like growth, metabolism, reproduction, stress response, body temperature, sleep, mood, and blood pressure as well as influencing hormone-producing glands to release hormones that control a wide range of processes.

Aromatherapy: Essential Oils Practitioners' Diploma.
Upon successful completion and accreditation, the CHP accredited course provides training to gain proficiency as a professional aromatherapist in the fields of complementary and contemporary health care settings. The course follows the Aromatherapy Council's Core Curriculum.

Appointments can be made through my website at my private practice Uta Sempf Reflexology or at Victoria Park Osteopaths in Victoria Park in East London.

A reflexologist does not diagnose, treat or cure conditions, but supports the body's innate healing mechanism to restore balance at cellular level.
